Fight Hunger Foundation/Action Against Hunger – India organised a half-day training on ‘Nutrition Landscape in India’ in their New Delhi office on the 16th of February 2018 for the department of Advocacy of Fight Hunger Foundation/Action Against Hunger-India. As resource person Mr. Basanta Kumar Kar, Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of The Coalition for Food and Nutrition Security(Coalition) discussed about strategic directions to policy and advocacy in India citing examples from Bangladesh. Mr. Kar shared the key features of the National Nutrition Mission in the context of Prime Minister’s ambitious agenda on Mission Malnutrition Free India 2022 to accelerate progress on SDGs and WHA targets.

While discussing on operationalising policies and advocacy through a logical approach to create impact at scale, Basanta spoke about Jan Andolan, Social Audit, changing narratives – policy centred, people centred and problem solving advocacy approaches and the need for finding solutions in an Indian way.

    Delighted to know that such sessions are conducted. Thank you Basantji for spreading the knowledge on nutrition especially combating malnutrition which our honourable Prime Minister Modiji is emphasizing time n again . Human nutrition was never given prime importance even among medico fraternity. I truely appreciate the efforts taken by the nutrition coalition team. I would be more than happy to conduct the sessions in Indore if required.
