Hailakandi and Karingang joint district sensitisation workshop

A joint district sensitisation workshop was organised in Silchar on November 14, 2017 by the Coalition which was supported by UNICEF. Hailakandi and Karimgang are among those high burden districts identified by the Government of India which need to accelerate efforts to address malnutrition. The newly formed District Level Multi-Sectoral Advisory Body representatives from the aforementioned two districts were present in the workshop. Apart from discussion on the National Family Health Survey – IV factsheet, participants were sensitised on manifestations, consequences, impacts of undernutrition. As a next step, District Level Multi-Sectoral Advisory Body representatives will fill up the multi-sectoral result based district plan templates which has been developed by the Coalition and approved by the Government of Assam. Another workshop will take place soon with the district advisory body representatives to finalise the Multi-Sectoral Result Based District Plan to reduce malnutrition and micronutrient deficiency.
